The process

Four steps.

A clear path from finding your combination to registering it with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department (DVLD).

  1. Find the one.

    Search available combinations, compare fixed-price plates, or explore selected auction releases. Check availability before committing to a purchase.

  2. Make it yours.

    Complete checkout by card or bank transfer. Once payment is confirmed, your registration appears under My Plates in your account.

  3. Collect your certificate.

    Request your Certificate of Ownership from the plate’s page in your account. We’ll email you when it’s ready to collect at the Customer Care Hub.

  4. Register. Or retain.

    Register your plate to a vehicle through the DVLD. Ownership continues while it stays registered, or you can hold it on retention and renew from your account.

Buying and holding a plate is open to anyone, anywhere. These requirements apply when registering it to a vehicle in Gibraltar.
